Here are the NFL teams that showed up to watch Johnny Manziel throw

Former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel, who flamed out of the NFL in 2016 after two tumultuous seasons with the Cleveland Browns, is trying to work his way back into the league.

In February, Manziel revealed that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder last year, saying he had started taking medication and was seeing improvements. The former Texas A&M star also said he had stopped drinking.

Now the former first-round pick wants another shot at the NFL.

On Thursday morning, Manziel had an opportunity to show off his skills to NFL scouts: He served as the quarterback at the University of San Diego’s pro day.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “Johnny Football” impressed those in attendance with only two misses in 38 attempts.

So which teams had representatives watching Manziel?

ESPN’s Eric Williams reported 13 teams were on hand — some of them surprising.

It’s hard to picture Johnny Manziel meshing with coach Bill Belichick as a New England Patriot, for example.

It also seems highly unlikely the Browns would seriously consider bringing him back to Cleveland.

Do you think Johnny Manziel will ever start another NFL game?

In fact, every team on the list either has an established starter or will be looking for one in next month’s draft.

Manziel’s path back to the NFL, if it exists, almost certainly means signing somewhere as a backup, proving he has his act together and waiting for a chance to get into a game and show he can be a legitimate NFL quarterback.

After his workout, Manziel thanked the University of San Diego for the opportunity, saying he enjoyed himself even though he was “far from perfect.”

He won’t have to wait long for his next chance to impress NFL scouts. Manziel is participating in the developmental Spring League, which begins Wednesday in Austin, Texas.

According to the Spring League, 10 NFL teams sent scouts to the games in its debut season last year, and 22 teams asked the league for game footage.
