Rob Gronkowski posts cryptic message about his 'future'

Share

When he’s been healthy, Rob Gronkowski has been one of the most imposing players in the NFL, physically dominating defenders from the tight end position like few others have.

He’s been named to the Pro Bowl five times and won two Super Bowl rings in eight years with the Patriots.

But after New England’s devastating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII, Gronkowski indicated his NFL career might just be over.

“I am definitely going to look at my future for sure,” he told reporters. “I am going to sit down the next couple weeks and see where I am at. … I’m going to reflect on the season. Proud of the boys, and just see what happens.”

After about three weeks of contemplation, Gronkowski tweeted a message about the “future” Saturday that offered little clarity about whether he’ll be back next season.

Gronk’s curious tweet had fans trying to read the tea leaves, with many somehow concluding he’s as good as gone.

Some saw his tweet as a sign that he’s headed to Hollywood. Gronkowski has been told by movie stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Sylvester Stallone that he could make millions of dollars in action films, according to The Eagle Tribune of North Andover, Massachusetts.

Others were sure he’s off to join the WWE, which reportedly has been trying to sign him to a “full-time” pro wrestling deal.

The only one who knows for sure what Gronkowski plans to do is the lovable lunkhead himself.
