NFL player's dad updates fans after son found naked & bloody during arrest

Several days after Buffalo Bills wide receiver Zay Jones was arrested following a bizarre incident in which he allegedly smashed a hole in a Los Angeles apartment building window and threatened to jump out, his father, Robert Jones, said Zay is doing OK.

“Thank you for your prayers everyone. Zay is with me and his mom! He’s gonna be fine! We love y’all!” tweeted Robert Jones, who played linebacker in the NFL for 10 seasons with four different teams.

Zay was released from police custody on Wednesday, and he won’t be charged with vandalism, according to The Associated Press.

A spokesman for the L.A. district attorney’s office said prosecutors will not bring criminal charges against Jones because of “insufficient evidence.”

On Monday night, Jones, 22, got into an altercation with his older brother, 25-year-old Cayleb Jones, a wide receiver on the Minnesota Vikings.

Video footage revealed Zay Jones was naked while tussling with his brother. Zay could be heard yelling, “I’m going to fight for Jesus.”

Zay broke away from Cayleb and ran down the hallway toward the apartment of Cayleb’s girlfriend, who lives in the building.

Do you think Zay Jones will get the help he needs?

At one point, as TMZ Sports reported, Zay ran from the apartment to a balcony area and smashed a hole in the window with this foot. Photos taken at the scene of the incident showed there was blood everywhere.

Zay Jones reportedly tried to jump out the 30th-floor window, but his brother stopped him and police arrived shortly thereafter.

“I am my brothers keeper,” Cayleb wrote Wednesday on Twitter, likely in response to the altercation he had with his brother.

“You are so unselfish @CaylebJones,” his father tweeted later that day.

On Tuesday, meanwhile, the Bills released a statement about their second-year wide receiver.

“We are aware of the incident involving Zay Jones. We are still in the process of gathering more information on the matter. At this point, we will have no further comment,” the statement read.

Zay Jones was drafted by the Bills in the second round of the 2017 draft out of East Carolina. In his rookie campaign, he caught 27 passes for 316 yards with two touchdowns.
